Southern City

When you think "Deep South," where do you think?

Personally, Atlanta comes to mind. Atlanta was the capital of the Confederacy and is still a nationally known city and is recognized as a symbol of the South. There are many parts of Atlanta, the new and modern city that caters to big business men, people looking to party, and college students. The next part is the historical part, the part that helped fight against the Northern efforts. And there is also the part that is the beautiful city that, when in the right parts, is really pretty to walk through, where the capital building. My favorite picture of Atlanta that I've ever found is the second one posted here because it shows the beautiful city that has limit-less opportunites!

So where do you think is the "Deep South?"

  1. Katy, Atlanta was never the capital of the CSA--Montgomery and Richmond were at different times.

What is (or isn't) indicative of the Deep South about this image? Be more specific.
