An unfortunate stereotype about the South is their close, loving, family relationships, and by loving I mean physically attracted to other relatives. Some people believe the South is made up of giant families composed of many marriages within the same family. That is to say, a common belief is incestry. The movie takes place in the West Virginian mountains. Some might argue that West Virginia is not part of the South, but the stereotype is directed at the South.
